I put the dahl in the ready set bowl, place on the napkin, sprinkle a little cilantro on top and look through the viewfinder of my camera to see how it looks… Hmmm, still a pretty unappealing dish to photograph so what can I do to make it look a little better. I lean back and try to asses the set and what I could do to improve it. But then I see a little red dot in my left eye and I feel I am being watched. So I turn my head and there is Humphrey – on his favorite spot on the couch – looking at me with a look that says it all.
“Forget about that dish woman! I am much cuter and much more photogenic than that dahl will ever be! And talking of dahl… is there meat in it? Is it something I can eat? I do not think so!!”
So what else could I do but turn my camera around and start taking pictures of him instead of the food… ?
And he can be quite persuasive that little red devil, who is growing like a mad man… So do his sisters but I can easily see that he is going to be the man of the house pretty soon. He’s clumsy and tends to fall over his own legs more times then I can count and he loves to cuddle. Well, they all love to cuddle so I can also see a battle for the ‘lap’ coming pretty soon. Now they all still fit easily but pretty soon it will be getting crowded!
But, as is the case, there is always just this one kitten that is appearing more in front of the camera then the others. Not because Buffy and Sookie are any less cute, but just because Humphrey likes to pose. Sookie tends to immediately come up to you as soon as she sees you, which makes it hard to take a picture and Buffy is camera shy. Funny how their characters are really shining through already.
But… now on to this dish before you think I am changing this to a cat blog instead of a foodblog…; it’s quite tasty and very healthy too. As you may or may not know, I recently started again on the 12WBT program which is a lot of sports and basically healthy eating. And it works for me (lost 5 kg sofar!) This dish is a edited version of the one that was on the program for this week. I added some sweet potato in there as well as some spinach I still had in the fridge which spiced it up a little bit.
